Nowadays, I guess the usual source is
fanfiction.net. What I'm curious
about is how many people who first got into reading
fanfiction because of
fanfiction.net are aware of other sites outside said
site.

Egad, my first ML post since signing up to the list 5
years ago.

I'm doing my best to keep awareness of other Ranma 1/2
fan fiction carrying sites alive with my own link site
& database.  It is amazing the number of fic updates
that aren't known about simply because the author does
not post at FF.net.  The anifics forum does well for
alerting people to updates, but as was pointed out
FF.net is the first stop for most people these days. 
As I don't read any other anime fan fiction, can
someone enlighten me as to whether the attrition rate
for writers is as bad as it is with Ranma 1/2 fan
fiction?  The number of incomplete/abandoned fic is
depressing!
