It shouldn't.  Apparently this Sailor Pluto finds proposals and
weddings acutely painful because of her lost love.  That this 
wedding is necessary to achieve her intellectual goal isn't 
going to change that.   

"He?!" Minako shouted.  "You can't possibly be
suggesting what I think you are."

You lost me here, completely.  Did Minako think Setsuna
was lesbian or something?  Or too icy-hearted to ever
have been married?  I just don't get this reaction at
all.  I'd have thought it'd be:

  "He?!" Minako shrieked.  "A boyfriend?!  Setsuna had
  a boyfriend back then?  No, no; even better!  A
  husband?!  Were they married?!"  With a grin splitting
  her face, Minako leaned closer.  "Tell, tell!"  she
  demanded.

I rather like that idea, particularly because it gives a little
individuality to the conversation.  Thinking about it, it seems tom
me the girls are more or less speaking with the same voice, simply 
acting as prompters for Artemis's expository lump rather 
than having their own personal reactions.
