If he does survive, Ranma will certainly be more than a match for Happosai.
She'd been encased up to her elbows when the batter had finally
hardened into something not unlike concrete.
If the cake never made it to the oven, it would make Ranma's switcheroo
plan a lot harder to pull off.

It's a little odd that Cologne knows so much about the Reikoku but
doesn't know about the Temple of Three. Checking out possible senders
might be a useful line of investigation at least.
