Use Tomo instead of Osaka.  Tomo is not beyond
wondering things, and again, the question isn't that
unusual among students of English.

month, and I'm working on a darker one, though those

Sorry, but I have to disagree.  Blushing is brought on
by the understanding itself.  Sans understanding, as
in Chiyo's case, there is no embarassment.  She could
burst in on Kaorin making love to Sakaki and merely be
totally confused as to what they were doing and why
the others were quickly ushering her away, not
embarassed in the least.

Originally they were going to lunch, but as it fell
after the earlier 
bit with the taiyaki, I figured people might think
it was the same day 
and wonder about them eating twice.

If you really want - though this might be pushing the
bounds of characterization a bit - Yomi could have
been having a snack between classes earlier, and Tomo
looking to leech off of her.
