Okay, I'm going to be blunt here.

I didn't like this. Why didn't I like it? Because this was...

Have you even seen an episode of Ranma? Or read any of the manga? Because
I'm really getting the vibe here of someone whose entire working knowledge
is fanfiction-based. And rather bad, even for that. NOTHING in this felt
like Ranma 1/2. The character names and a few offshot references is just
about all there was in here of Ranma. For all the "feel" there was, you
could replace the names "Ranma" and "Akane" with "Seiji" and "Midori", have
Ryouga be someone else entirely and remove the pig farm bit, and call it a
Midori no Hibi fanfic. Or rewrite it as a Fatal Fury or Street Fighter
story--hell, it'd make about a billion times more SENSE as a Fatal Fury or
Street Fighter story.

Putting that aside, there's also the fact that the Ranma characters are not
tournament-class martial artists. They're so very far above and beyond any
tournament or international competition class, it's like comparing Hummers
to Beetles. Ranma would never step into a tournament ring because there'd be
no point. He'd win. Even given this very unlikely premise, and given an
opponent who's a genuine challenge to him, no such person is going to be in
a tournament unless it's an underground street fighting tournament. And
Ranma is simply not the tournament type. You'll probably defend yourself by
saying "he runs a dojo, it's expected to place his dojo's honor on the line
in competition"--BS. The Musabetsu-kakutou school is, like its students, far
above and beyond the likes of the karate and tae kwon do and other such
styles that are accepted norms in standardised competition--it'd be like
expecting Xiaolin monks to show up for a state martial arts meet.

I have so many other problems with this story that it's not even funny,
especially considering the short length of it, but I've addressed the major
concerns already. This just plain doesn't work, and I'm not entirely
convinced the author of a work such as this has any direct knowledge of the
source material.
