Well, now *that* was a bit of fun. A rotten thing to do to Bell & co., but

it's good to see K1 with the immediate, crisis-resolving insight for once.

    The scary thing is, would Jeff have acted if Ranma hadn't bee
influencing him?  'Saffron' killed Akane, and Ranma killed him.  Only later
did he learn he'd only killed this personality, not Saffron as a whole.  You
can only push him so far, then . . . Watch out!  Oh course, he knew Jeff was
only going to play mind-games.  I've alswyas wondered by K-1 and Bell never
discuss children, it's obvious she's good with kids, but they never even
speculate about their own.  Bell did a good job of describing the pilots to
K-1.
     Just imagine what's going to happen at Asuka's picnic!  The pilots, the
Goddesses, imagine all the potential collateral damage.  Imagine Misato
versus Ootaki and Tamiya in a head to head no-holds barred, no bars held
accountable, drinking contest.  Imagine Asuka and Ranma versus Bell in
Anything Goes Cooking!  Imagine Sora versus Misato in cooking (before or
after the drinking).  Imagine Keiichi versus Shinji in a drinking contest.
Go ahead and imagine it, because none of that happens at the picnic in the
next chapter.  Somebody who wants to do an Omake . . . that's up to them.

Asuka and her new 'specially-pointy-stick, I about expected her to snuggle

it and name it Pierre, which made the bit where Nabiki imagined herself as
Azusa-the-gun-nut even more funny.

   Assuming Asuka encountered the Golden Pair while she was dreaming she was
Nabiki, I doubt she'd pull an Azusa, unless she wanted to turn someone's
stomach.  'Asuka Secret Technique Somersaulting Stomachs!'
    Azusa the Pilot of Unit 02 'Angels are so cute!'  Okay, I'll stop now.

"mein grosse feldmarschall" - so what are the nine jokes?

    1) Rei: Knock, knock.
Asuka: Who's there?
Rei: Mein Grosse Feldmarschall.
Asuka: Mein Grosse Feldmarschall who?
Rei: You of course.
Asuka: That's not funny Wondergirl.
Rei: I did not call them funny jokes.

    Need I go on? Please say no.

Given that they've had the experience, and Ranma at least has some serious

shapeshifting abilities, for all he hasnn't really accessed them consciously
until then, could he and Jeff pull off a fusion without Ritsuko if
neccessary? Not that I'm so sure they'd WANT to, but nedds must when the
devil drives, as they say. As long as they don't start calling themselves
Rankoon or Racco, and their hair stays dark, there's plenty of other
examples of character fusion without looking like one of the sillier bits of
DBZ lore.

     Of course, Ranma could do it with any or all of the pilots.  They
needed Rituko because she could handle the energy load.  Right now the
pilots are like a Piper Cub with a R-2800 engine (used in the P-47).  You're
right, both are too disturbed by their insights into the other to try it
again.  The pilots personalities are a little too strong to allow a
permanent fusion, no Ranma isn't going to turn into Agent Smith.
    Besides, Ranma's having enough problems with the three aspects of his
personality: Ranma, Ranko and the Neko-ken.

When Jeff asked Ranko what she'd do, if she was an enemy and learned of

the trip their setting out on, my own answer would be to attack the
alternates and detatched personnel, to deny the main group their safety
margin and shake morale, then go for a series of hit and run attacks to
whittle them down, but I know Ranma doesn't think that way.

    Ranma is like Godzilla, he attacks the point of greatest resistance.
You're thinking like Jeff would.  So the link between Ranma and Jeff was
lessening.
