okay I must have missed something, I've reread all 10 and both SS 
and I still can't find the connection between Hotaru's and Ranma's family

Anyway one problem I'm having is the treatment of the Tendos by the police
I'm fully aware of the difference between the American and Japanese police, (I was in the US Navy
and spent a lot of time in Yokosuka and Sasebo), but my point is if the police finally took action at 
the  Emperor's "request" they would be very careful how they went about it with everything fully documented
and demonstratively "above board".
Perhaps a change so that the  "body cavity searches" took place in a Police Station and fully video taped with multiple witnesses...
still within the letter of the law but extremely humiliating

  Hotaru emerges (And Aiko finds out...). With any luck
  Glaive might be slightly reassured that Setsuna's
  replacement is a blood relative of its own guardian
  who is not only unlikely to pull any Setsuna's stunts,
  but to give Hotaru the physical training she'd need,
  if asked.
