Because *nowhere* in any of the books is Harry called a Pure
Blood. Not even by Ron's family, even though they are obviously
(and unashamedly) Pure Blood.
Not directly - but if you put together the Sorting Hat's song in Book 5
(which stated that only purebloods are accepted into Slytherin) and the
Sorting Hat telling Harry he would do well in Slytherin in Book 1 - then
that would make Harry a pureblood.
Though I would guess people who can trace their family line back for
generations with *no* muggle ancestry are considered _more_ pure. And with
the Blacks, Malfoys and most likely the Potters (pre-Lily, anyway) - I'm
sure they have higher stanndards then just pure blood. Can you imagine
Lucious letting Draco marry the cook's daughter?
What I find totally strange and unlikely is that Harry has no wizarding
grandparents, great-grandparents, great-uncles and the like. People in the
wizarding world can live a very long time, and Harry's parents at least were
quite young when they became parents - so what happened to all the previous
generations of Potters that should still be alive and healthy?? At the very
least you'd think Harry would be curious and ask about what happened to
them.
