I suspect this will soon turn OT, but anyway...

My question:  Should all the writers have waited untill Sharp finished (or
at least seemed to), or did they have the moral right to post?
Did Sharp right is asking them to hold off?  These other authers were
writing fics set in another writers playground; isn't it an unwritten
rule that you don't do that?
I would imagine that the same "rules" that apply to all fanfiction still
applies, even for fanfiction of fanfiction.
At the very least, I see no reason why a fanfic writer's creation should
be accorded more respect than a non-fanfic/original creation.
Since I haven't paid attention I can't say if Sharp was right in asking
them to cease and desist, but it was certainly within his rights to do
so.
