Gregg's, and now I'm going to provide a counter-opinion.

Yes, spam is bad. Spam is bad. Spam is really, really bad. But that
said, when faced with an unfavorable situation, there are really two
rational responses: (1) accept it, or (2) do something about it.
Screaming for someone else to deliver you the heads of the offending
parties is, well, probably not particularly productive. A little
perspective is also a good thing; I doubt anyone would consider email
spam as serious a crime as, say, murder.

But if anyone is wondering why i'm not doing artwork or fanfiction any more, 
there you are. Just trying to keep my computer running is hard enough 
without having to reset my computer due to spam and viruses being sent my 
way. (i suspect that at least one Spammer is a KOTF.) "

I'd ask for a rational basis behind that accusation, but I'm not that
much of an optimist.

As Gregg intentionally cut himself off from the fanfic community to escape 
the flamers, I'm afraid we won't be hearing anything from him again.

In any case, whether to write or not write is an individual's own
decision. Do what you want or what you have to, but take responsibility
for it; don't blame other people for a choice that's yours and yours
alone.

Damn shame, too.  I LOVED the Bet.  What a lot of anime purists failed to 
understand is that the whole POINT of the Bet as a plot device was to 
explore possibilities in anime storylines, Ranma in particular, without 
worrying about sticking to continuity.

It was FUN TO READ, dagnabit, and now I won't get to read another Betfic 
until Hell freezes over.

What *you* fail to understand is:

1) Not everybody thought it was fun.

2) The people who didn't think it was fun have a perfect right to say
so.

3) The author, in turn, has a perfect right to ignore those people and
continue writing in whatever manner he sees fit.

4) Should the author give up this right and quit writing, it's his own
decision, and no one else's.
