Well, going by the established 'logic' of the manga and norse mythology. Hild = Hel, norse goddess of death and daughter of Loke, the instigator of Ragnarok.

I'm not sure to what extent she was mentioned in the myths of the final battle. Loke, Tor, Oden, Fenris Wolf, Jormungand, Heimdal and Surt are the ones I remember being the foremost players, though the ship Nagelfar, created of the nails of the dead found unworthy of Valhal was supposed to set sail and battle on the site of evil.

Loke was sort of featured in the form of the 'Ultimate Destruction Program', basically a spirit set to instigate Ragnarok and which could only be released through 'one of its descendants' (this is where the story gets unclear), which was Urd in this case (who was later revealed to be the daughter of Hild. daughter of 'sort-of-Loke-maybe' ;) ), though none of the norns were supposed to be the daughters of the death-goddess in the original religious myths as far as I know. Skuld, the norn of the future was supposedly sometimes confused/blended with her myth, but that's another matter entirely.

Whether Hild is supposed to be equal to Kami-Sama is unclear, but it was mentioned that while Kami-Sama was capable of defeating 'sort-of-Loke', he would need to use his full force to do this. Whether his 'descendant-maybe' Hild has power on par with the destruction-spirit is unclear and it's also been heavily implied that Urd is the daughter of 'Kami-sama-sort-of-Oden' and 'Hild-sort-of-Hel', so combined with the dreadfully slow pacing the author of the manga basically seems to have less of a backstory worked out than you probably have constructed, so do whatever you like and have fun (Though I'd get a kick out of seeing Kami-Sama and Hild going to court for custody rights to Urd ;) )
