I'll give the poster the benefit of the doubt and assume that the
two-by-four comment was meant metaphorically. Still, I agree that this
has gone too far.

People, you're welcome to attack or defend fanfics as vigorously as you
like. But don't start attacking each other. It's unprofessional, it
makes you look bad, it takes us away from the meaningful discussions we
should be having, and if it keeps up we we'll ban you. Everybody has a
right to his opinion on a fanfic. If you disagree with someone's
opinion, you're welcome to say so. If you think someone is an idiot who
deserves to be killfiled, keep it to yourself.

With the above warning in mind, comments on this story are still
welcomed.
