And as for harsh? It's a tough world. The only "creative license" I took 
with how the Tokyo cops acted here was the fact that they "did the deed" on 
site instead of waiting to get back to the precinct house. There's a 
*reason* Japan has about a 95% conviction rate from the time of arrest. 

Not to mention that Japan is responsible for exporting 60-70% of the worlds total amount of child pornography and that 'Freedom in the World' (http://www.freedomhouse.org/research/freeworld/2003/countries.htm) only lists them as having a second-rate civil liberties and press freedom...
