Regardless, it's still nine chapters and a lot of K of him being helpless,
which is far too many. And frankly, from what I've gleaned from the story,
David's comments are all on the mark. From most of the people I've talked 
to
(though not all) that read RA agree to the point where many have given up 
on
the story far earlier for some of the criticisms DJ gave. Will everyone
agree with DJ's comments? No. But if enough people are making the same
criticism of a work, there might be some validity to it, and it's at least
worth looking into.

Nah. It's better to killfile them than think for a moment they might be
right. They are probably just 'average readers' anyway, and beneath 
someone
as great as MS's notice. Forget I said anything.

Well, Think of it this way. You're looking at a 17 year old who in the past 
ten years has had who knows what kind of abuses in the form of 'training', 
in the last year and a half has suffered from a severe sexual identity 
crisis. In the last year has been in near constant battle and psychological 
abuse from numerous people, and in the week and a half, been forced to kill, 
had his entire life pulled right out from under him, for a time believed he 
would never be male again, forced to become the protector for a possibly 
billion-year-old artifact, been moved to a new family that actually seems to 
care, and told he's just acquired a whole supply of new enemies, including a 
team of misguided magical girls and parts of his own family. Do you really 
expect /anyone/ to get over that in two days? 99.99999 percent of people out 
there would probably be shellshocked, crying or drooling. I'm amazed Ranma's 
still holding up.
