Indeed.  At the moment, though, it smacks almost of vegeance ficcing.
I'm trusting you, though, Mark, that there is going to be a payoff for
this disturbing and dirty business.

On a slightly happier topic, I also find it disturbing that the
Emperor has apparently been watching Ranma's life apparently since
he got back to Japan from China, and only now has chosen to
intervene.  The timing is... suspicious.

And I can't help but wonder if Kuno's delusion is so strong that he
might denounce the Emperor as an imposter if the latter personally
ordered him to stand down from pursuing Ranma...
