I would likke to apologize to anyone to whom i have given offense,
and I will be unsbscribing from the FFML as it appears my contribution
is unwelcome.

Bullshit.

Most, if not all, fanfics and authors are welcome on the FFML. It takes a
rather large offense to make someone wholly unwelcome here, and though I
have only barely skimmed the story you posted, I frankly don't see any such
thing. I haven't kept track of C&C threads the last few days, but I'm
guessing you got a harsh criticism? If you're thin-skinned enough that a
little negative criticism bothers you that severely, then perhaps you DON'T
belong on the FFML. Because that's the entire point of this mailing
list--not to receive wanton praise and coddling and gushing compliments, but
to receive honest criticism on what does and does not work in a story.

Now, if someone went off on you like a tac-nuke, and made you feel like
total garbage when it was unwarranted, I can understand your reaction. But
if you're just having a snit because you got a bit of negative C&C, then you
probably should unsubscribe. But consider it carefully, and consider why you
subscribed to begin with.

This goes for everyone who's new to the list and unsure of themselves. Don't
take every negative comment as a personal criticism, and don't let overly
negative comments make you feel unwelcome if you feel they're undeserved or
unwarranted. We have a lot of assholes here, after all. I should know. I'm
usually one of them. But by the same token, temper tantrums aren't at all
cool here, so keep that in mind in the event you feel the need to vent about
something said to you in response to a fanfic or a comment on someone else's
work.

Again, I don't know exactly what triggered this, so I'm basically running
off at the mouth, but this is my honest opinion on such things as a
long-time member of the list. Take my advice as you will, and do what you
feel you must.
