Don't be.  That itself gave a point to the fic.

Although, one technical point: whatever word processor
you're using, it didn't give normal quote and
apostrophe characters.  See the line I quoted for an
example: all your " and ' characters came out as ?
instead (which made for difficulty parsing "...?",
since that showed up as ?...??).  There are many
possible remedies for this, including using a
different word processor (like Notepad instead of MS
Word, if you're on Windows; you can copy and paste
into Word for spellchecking after you've written it,
and so long as you don't touch the quote and
apostrophe characters, it usually won't replace 'em
with its nonstandard characters).
