Either I'm misremembering things or nobody's bothering to point it out
because they know better, but as I recall (in the manga) Shan Pu ate
Super Soba too (after being launched by Akane and landing near Happosai
and his second attempt at a Super Soba meal).
IIRC, they were fighting evenly before Shampoo took the Super Soba
noodles. After she did eat them, the fight CONTINUED to be pretty
much even. If that's correct, it could probably be argued that the
noodles grant a set strength rather than a set or proportionate
increase of strength (as in, noodles give a strength of 18/00 no
matter what your natural strength is, even if 18/00 is already your
natural strength, to put it in rpg terms), and Shampoo was already as
strong as the noodles can make possible.
It's been a while since I read that arc and I seem to have misplaced
my Ranma cds, so I could be remembering wrong what happened. Don't
think so, though.
