I found the Wonder Woman spamfic to be quite funny. Looking at the
discussions on which R 1/2 characters could represent which members of
the Justice League got me thinking about a super-group whose tone fits
Ranma much more closely: the cartoon version of the Teen Titans.
They're all pretty typical teenager archetypes, aside from the
super-powers, and their show does rely an awful lot on visual jokes and
gags, co-opting most anime clich�s in that field.
The way I see it, Shampoo could fill in as Starfire (both are "foreign
amazon princesses"), Ryoga as Cyborg (super-strong and pig-headed),
Gisunkugi as Raven (lots of mental issues and trucking with dark powers),
Kuno as Beast-Boy (he certainly is annoying, and would have fallen on
the only _blessed_ spring of Jusenkyo) and, finally, Nabiki as Robin
(she's the only smart one).
After wading through that festival of parentheses, you're probably
wondering where Ranma fits on all this. Well, he's still just Ranma. The
whole point is leaving him out of the super-team lineup and making him
look silly in comparison. Okay, maybe not that silly, considering these
are supposed to be Ranma stand-ins for the Teen Titans.
