I have to agree with CD. Right now we're seeing Ranma doing a bit of growing up, though, which will be very helpful if he ever does get his memory back.
I think the main reason for blanking it is that he can't keep his mouth shut. Where Nabiki has been able to (mostly) keep her origins secret, Ranma would never have been able to avoid giving it away, and the results - in the much more security-paranoid environment than even the default NGE setting - could be disastrous.
I'd like to see some Nerima scenage, simply for the opportunity to let the characters who've stayed there do some growing, too. If we only get back to them at the very end they're going to be the same sort of uber-stereotypical whackjobs we got in the first chapter.

I reccomend you do indeed. It's really very good overall, though
the
run-ons are an endemic problem all through. One of the things that
is not
immediately obvious but important as to why all these American
Navy types
are hanging around is that it is set in 1945, instead of 2015, and
there is
no geofront or retractable city. Having so many women in important
positions in 1945 and NOT having random male characters complain
about that
vigorously at any opportunity is a bit of a stretch, but I guess
this
alt-uni had a more relaxed view of women's rights all along, or
something.
Maybe the Magical Anime Force that allows breaking the square/cube
law to
let the evas exist warps everyone's minds? :?)
I'm hoping that a reason beyond 'I wanted to put him here'
eventually turns
up for adding Ranma to the mix, particularly for erasing his
memories while
doing so, as that seems to me do defeat the point. The prologue
shows that
they will eventually get back to 1990s Nerima, if not his meories
of the
place, and that the war against the mythos is probably underway
there too,
though it could be any nasty that set up the opening situation, we
don't
see it.
For that matter, I'd like a 'meanwhile back at the ranch' to see
what the
Wrecking Crew think now that Nabiki's vanished as well, and what
was on the
note Bell left in her place.
