Random Thoughts:

First of all, the POV character would either annoy or frighten me.  Blame it on
me growing up somewhere that firearm proliferation was an actual problem and
law enforcement was neither trustworthy nor reliable (BTW, having our own
merely got my father pistol-whipped and our entire family nearly murdered when
I was an infant), but the U.S. becoming something akin to an armed camp does
not give me Warm Fuzzies.  That being said, the We Are All In This Together
reaction is not only more appealing than a Paranoid Xenophobia(tm) reaction,
but also more plausible if the Youma are as unsubtle as depicted.  Is there a
Master Plan for which the attacks are a smokescreen?

Another point is that, while I like both the effectiveness of honest belief and
universal counter-effectiveness of False Prophets/Hate-mongers (I almost feel
sorry for Reverend Sharpton... almost), this is going to severely traumatize
many genuine followers of the Abrahamic Faiths.  The concept of the pagan
tomfoolery of shamans and witches being as effective against these demons as
the prayers any Good Christian Man of The Cloth is going to shake most
evangelical denominations to their very foundations.

Even more upsetting to both churches and states would be the existence of the
Senshi themselves becoming public.  Chalk it up to excess reading of X-Men
during my formative years, but anything displaying overt supernatural powers
could well be rearded as at _least_ as threatening as what they claim to fight.
