Er...am I the only one who found this part lacking in sensitivity? 
There are pious muslims just as there are pious people from any 
religion. You make it seem like only Christian blessings have any 
effect, when the Senshi are certainly not Christian.
 

I didn't take Firethorn's text "many mullahs" as meaning "all mullahs", so I
did not find it lacking in sensitivity (on that point).  I'd take it for 
granted,
given his scenario, that a fair portion of ANY body of clergy would fail
to effectively bless the ammunition.

The "torn apart" does give me pause on second reading, though:  I took
this as figurative first time through, but if meant literally, I have to 
wonder
where this is supposed to have taken place.  In any Muslim country, the
local populace would not be that upset at finding that some clergy aren't
sufficiently holy; they've known that all along.  In American, I'd think
the proportion of unholy Muslim clergy fairly low, given their tiny minority
status:  why do it at all if you don't believe in it?
