Look, shade, the criticism is valid, you had Ranma follow basically the
same
plotline as laid out in LH for how Naru and Kei meet, that plus this dream
sequence adds to this.

Also, if you're getting a lot of "you shouldn't kill Granny hina" advice
from people that know the LH universe, maybe you should stop behaving like
this and just accept that maybe the people telling you that might have a
point... and that they're telling you it for a good reason...and that it's
not "bias" as you put it.

But, given the tone use used by you from the start... maybe you just
aren't
able to handle feedback. Thats what it looks like to me at least.

Ok, I took another look at the fic, just to see if you even read it...

Number one - stated at the top is that it's before Nodoka, but after the Shi
Shi Hokodan. IIRC, that means the gang hasn't been to Ryuugenzawa, where the
matchup was more or less decided. Thus, Ranma has only Akane's word - she
won't marry him, which she's said any number of times before this.

Number two - the rest of the setup scene parallels the end of the manga, but
this time, Ranma a) doesn't have any indication Akane wants to do it, b) the
"incentive" is already out of his control, d) Genma's been keeping important
things secret, that have a definite bearing on the things Ranma just spent a
day thinking about, and c) he's got a way out in his hand.

Number three - "Run away until you can think of a new approach" is the canon
reaction to any problem not presently surmountable. It's used several times
in the manga.

The only major quibble I have is that Nabiki wouldn't marry Ranma anyway,
even if he had the money - which he doesn't. Genma has it. Swindling him out
of that money on the other hand.... And there's the minor point of Ranma not
being a big thinker, but anyone can have one of those days. Heck, even I
have been known to think once or twice.... :-)

Now, the Love Hina side of things. First off, I haven't seen this, or read
the manga. I'd like to, but it's out of my budgetary range for the time
being.

That said - if Grandma Hina's sole function in the entire manga is setting
Keitaro up as the manager, and deeding the place to him if he marries young,
then I don't see the point of having her around, if she's more useful as a
way of getting Ranma motivated. As per the will, the inn is already Ranma's.

Finally, I'll just say that the comedy of errors at the end wasn't very
funny, to me - I don't know anyone who'd ever pull a "bust size checker",
let alone get away with it, and I can't understand the fascination. (I've
got the same problem with Tina in Ai Yori Aoshi.) And I really hope that the
girls will prove more mature than I expect - the whole thing is *their*
fault...
