Nabiki brought him a kettle to early in the manga to if I remember.  Maybe

even before Akane did, your point?  Also if Akane has such deep feelings for
Ranma why is she even capable of wearing the Battle Dougi in the first place
as it cannot be worn by someone whose heart is caught by another?  I don't
write Ranma and I don't particularly care for the series but in DMs and fics
I've seen some much more common nonsense that annoys me.  Example Akane must
always be right, do we really have to?  Also the Akane is super strong
nonsense.  Show me one even one example she shows superhuman strength when
not under the influence of a magic boosting artifact.  She couldn't even
budge Ryouga's umbrella.  Then there's the overpowering of the Ki attacks.
They aren't thermo based but people will write them as such as opposed to
the more explosive decoupling effect we've seen.  The "Perfect Shi-Shi
Hakoden" was so low power it didn't even pack the dirt down further after
the first time it was fired and it at most took out the school yard NOT A
CITY BLOCK.  They've never shown that level of power.

Um, no.  Akane bought him a kettle first and didn't charge him for it.  Also
Akane put herself in potential danger by fighting Kuno to distract him while
Ranma changed.

The Battle Dougi?  I'll have to re-read that, but likely... it's a
Takahashi.  The series is first and foremost a comedy, so Takahashi doesn't
care so much about keeping 100% consistency.

DMs fics?

Well I'm definitely not in the "Saint Akane" (as Shade has termed it) camp.
Neither am I in the "Akane= evil incarnate" camp either.  I like a good
Ranma/Nabki fic as much as a good Ranma/Akane fic.  On average... nope you
are right... Akane isn't super strong, but like Ranma she can pull some
power ups out of her ass.  Someone else had posted something to the list
about this regarding Ranma.  Akane happens to be one of the main characters
and Ranma's preferred fiance.  Thus at a needed moment.. for comedic effect
or serious... she pulls these super-human strength feats out of her ass.
Outside of those times, she is stronger than the average girl, but liek you
said... Ryouga's umbrella was too much for her.

As far as ki attacks go... well Shade answered that one pretty well in a
different response.  The only other thing to say is something similar to
above... whenever necessary Ranma can and will pull a major power up out of
his ass as he is the protagonist.

I needed to get that out of my system.  I've spent way to much time DMing

against Ranma fans.

Understandable.  Looking at the crap on FF.net makes me want to cringe to
say the least...
