- I'd agree with Shade, here. I don't see an evil Akane anywhere, for one. I
seen an Akane who is annoyed because Soun and Genma are pushing her and
Ranma together for superficial reasons. Had the author added Akane knowing
about his Grandmother, and still having the attitude, then that would be
grossly out of character for her. However, she doesn't know about the
letter.
- It's true that having a character die in a story can be a bad idea,
especially if it appears to be for no reason. But this isn't "no reason."
It's a catalyst, a Deus Ex Machina. That's not always a bad thing. From
reading through the second chapter, it's obvious that this isn't just a
"kill off the character so something can happen and move on" type of fic.
This will probably be very important for Ranma throughout the whole thing.
- Those are just my personal opinions, though, and I don't want to add to a
fight.
