"But I don't want to be here at ALL, Timothy!" Mina cried angrily,
slamming a fist on the rail. "Why couldn't she have let me board in
England and attend a public {: school}? Or send me to a boarding
school? Anything would've been better than THIS!" She gestured
expansively. "I don't like Japan." She sniffled and leaned into the
older man's chest.

Unless you are intentionally shortening it.

It's intentional. It IS dialogue, after all. ^_^

I know the public school is
different in England than it is in the US, do they have those kind of
public schools there for girls too?

Err...they have them for everyone, dude. I don't recall ever specifying an
all-girls' school. I just said a public. As it so happens, in England alone
there are a number of publics that are girls-only, a number that are
boys-only, and a number that are co-ed. A number of schools set different
age groups for co-education; some schools, for example, take boys 3-11 and
girls 3-18.There are also a number of boarding schools arranged similarly.

"Well then," the girl's father said, his tone now far more casual and
relaxed, "why don't you two go get to know each other without us
interfering?"

Except for setting up the entire engagement, of course.

Of course. =D

"Your crows have been rather uneasy of late, {granddaughter :
Granddaughter}."

Rei seems the least changed, so far. The change in Ami seems mostly
due to Usagi being different and not pulling her in.

Yeah, Rei's going to be closest to normal...hmm...actually, closer to her
PGSM incarnation. Extremely standoffish and cold. Also decidedly racist,
meaning she'll have issues with Mina, and decidedly rigid in a moral sense,
meaning she'll have issues with Makoto. Usagi is the one she'll feel most at
ease with, because she's a proper Japanese girl in the sense that she has
meekly (*snort*) accepted her place in society as a bride.

Mina stared at him. "You think I'm one of them, don't you?"

Quicker on the uptake then the usual Minako.

Yeah, this Minako's not QUITE as flighty as the regular version. She's more
down-to-Earth, and royally pissed at her situation, so instead of being the
perky-perky hyper ditz we're used to, she's just a typical moody teenage
girl with a chip on her shoulder.

submerged island in the Indian Ocean, and suffered through the round of
questions about everything from geodes to diamonds to things the
questioners clearly had no working knowledge of.

I'm slightly surprised Mamoru didn't take Usagi. I'm sure his parents
are pushing him to go out with her to get better aquainted.

Heh. Well, some things, a guy's just gotta do on his own...like casing a
museum for a breakin. ;)

"He's DEFINITELY up to something," Mina thought. She briefly pondered
{finding a phone and :} calling the police...

She just hung up her cell phone a few paragraphs ago.

Erk. Well-spotted. I'll fix it. (I can't believe nobody else, myself
included, caught that @_@...)

Aha! There. A tiny, unobtrusive, opaque wall panel, designed to look
like a burnt-out light. Grinning, he turned and bowed to it, sweeping
his hat off his head grandiosely. As he did so, he pressed a stud on
the top of his cane.

Just one camera?

Only one he's identified. Nobody's perfect, after all. ;)

"I've found you at last, Princess Serenity," the panther rumbled, fangs
glistening.

Somehow I get the feeling this isn't Luna.

Oh? ^_^

I hope your next installment isn't as delayed as my comments.

Ouch. Well, it's about 55% finished at the moment. I'm just having issues
with my muse. *hears a muffled thump from inside a heavy iron coffin*
...we're trying to get things sorted out, though.

Thanks for the comments.
