You might add another break scene as follows:  there's a
woman, perhaps a coworker, perhaps a regular at the
restaurant, who Ranma finds attractive (and does nothing
about).  This woman turns out to be lesbian, and noted
Ranma's gaze, and makes a pass at Ranma.

That's actually an excellent suggestion.  Hmm.  I'll have to think about
that.  Hmm.
