This is disturbing, really... In Swedish, the direct translation of the word
"hiss" does not connote the sharp "sss" sound, but rather the formation of
vowels at the tounge-root (as opposed to inside the voicebox). You'd use the
word stage-whisper, I think. In any case, using that definition, you could
definitely hiss the word "youma".
But trivia aside, if there's this much mincing of words over it, I'd use
rasp or stage-whisper - they both seem to imply a different frame of mind,
though.
