While I for one am happy to see a spirited discussion of this fanfic going on,
we could do without the insults, back-biting, and general infighting that seems
to be going on along with it.

A little professionalism here, people. Defend or attack this fanfic (or any
other) as vigorously as you want, but personal insults, name-calling, and any
other such things that are directed against a person rather than the story
should be sent privately, so that the rest of us don't have to be caught in the
middle.

And by the way, Lurker is right on at least one point -- you (Thermopyle) should
quote only enough of the story to provide context for your comments. Don't quote
back the entire story unless your comments are really, really extensive. (So it
doesn't look like I'm taking sides, I'll mention that Thermopyle is right about
the story's misuse of "smiled", etc. as if they were dialog tags, even though
that's not really an admin matter.)
