Grandma *says* she's sorry about her bad relationship with Nodoka,

Okay, I _think_ this may be a timing problem. If memory
serves, that tape was sent BEFORE Ranma claws his/her way out
of the wreckage of the mountain. In short, Granny was still
pissed, and in a mood to teach Nodoka that she is, in the words
of a certain famous regular from CHEERS, "just too STUPID TO LIVE!"
Then, along came Ranma, still alive, there's no reason -
well, okay, SOME reason, but not as much - to be pissed with
Nodoka, but the tape has already been sent off. Ooops.
I'd forgotten about that. Good catch.
(( Puu is in willful denial. Eiko probably HAS been screaming in her ear
for the last thousand years, she's just ignoring it. ))
Note that Eiko carefully did not tell Ranma that eliminating Crystal
Tokyo would kill Chibi-Usa. Sounds to me like "she" wants a dupe,
rather than a free-willed guardian. And that ribbons vs. bows
deception clearly indicates that Eiko is willing to fudge the truth
to get what she wants.
That was more like "sigh, accept, move on" than anything else. There were
more pressing issues than the appearance of the uniform, after all.
Well, I wouldn't call it wanting a dupe, so much as wanting
someone a LOT less into Dominance games. (And having had a lover who
was SERIOUSLY into B&D, though not with me, I know whereof I speak.)
TMI...
"Eta"? Nodoka better have some really good backup on that, because
you just don't say that if you don't really mean it.
(( Or you really want to spit on somebody. ))
Oh, yeah. While I have no personal experience, I suspect that
using it in this way is a lot like using the words "nigger", "spick",
"dago", or any of a number of such insults. I'm been on the receiving
end of "spick" and "wetback" a number of times myself.
I read somewhere that if someone calls you burakumin (the modern word for
eta) without being able to substantiate, killing the bastard is
unconvictable. Don't know if its true anymore, though.
Usagi spontaneously transforming in front of her mother, and Luna
blabbing like a madwoman were the best bits in the chapter. Keep
those, though the protocols stuff was a teensy overdone.
(( *chuckle* The Ginzuishou's AI is obviously not as well-programmed as
the
Gate's. I'd have a word with the code team if they weren't all ten
thousand
years dead. ))
I think it's more of a "I need to talk to you *now*, or the universe is
going to break. Your petty secrets are irrelevant" thing.

Yeah, something like "Jesus QUACK! What the hell did you idiots
USE?!
Visual BASIC?!"
Hardware limitations - there's only 64 kb RAM left over after the holovid
system executes...
