Er, dont phoenixes burn up periodicly from flying to near the
sun, according to mythology? Despite some tendancy to portray
them as fire elementals, wouldn't that kind of nix the idea
of them being impervious?

Phoenixes die by going up in flames. Icarus, another Greek mythological
figure died when the wax and feather wings his father made melted when he
flew too close to the sun.

But in any case, yes, the wand itself is wood and would burn quite nicely.
:)

The other point I wanted to raise about the story was that Harry would not
have necessarily been killed by the Orbo bullets - this is stated in the WHR
series that STNJ uses 'different methods' from their European counterparts
that don't require the killing of Craft users.

What happens after the point of capture is a different matter. :3

All in all, good tale. But yes, _Alvada Kadavera_ is a bit over the top.
Sort of like Tenchi using the Light Hawk wings to stop a pickpocket. Maybe
_Petrificus Totallus_ would have been better (she uses it on Neville in the
first movie).
