that few of her customers would care about, or even be
grateful for.  Even if some did wise up to the
ultimate effects, it was designed to root deep
underground; heavy construction equipment would be
needed to dig it all out, and the treatment might well
leave the soil barren for years afterwards.  Subtle
mutations guarded against any biological or chemical
countermeasures that might be devised, but the main
lure was simple greed: down to the last dying few, she
bet, someone would be unable to resist a free cannon.

Ranma would probably survive, but therein lay her
problem.  Her creed would be so much simpler if there
were any way to kill him, but there was not.  Nor
would he ever be hers, not now.

She had negotiated a good price for the first few
seeds, but money was unimportant.  Someone would
probably trace the transactions back within a few
years, track her down, and kill her for the vengeance
her weapons had extracted.  The "hero" might even
think it ironic justice to execute her with her own
plants, but that would just further legitimize them,
playing right into her plans.

If Kodachi could not have Ranma, no one would.  Even
if it meant the extinction of the rest of the human
race.
