There was no doubt about it--it was her.

It was really her.

"Okaa...chan..."

She smiled at him. There were a few more lines around her mouth than he
remembered, but the smile was just as it was then. "I'm home, Tenchi."

He stood rooted to the spot, eyes wide, mouth agape. It was...it was really
her. His mother. But how? She died...he saw her die...was at her funeral,
and...

They stood there for a long moment, not moving or speaking. At length,
Tenchi began to move, to rush forward, to embrace his mother, when...

"Ara? Kiyone?! ...KIIIIYOOOOOOOONEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"

A tanned blond ball of energy bounded down the stairs and collided with the
woman standing in the doorway. "Kiyone! It's really really you! I'm so happy
I missed you so much oh Kiyone where did you go?"

Behind her glasses, an eyebrow twitched. A fist clenched.

"This is why I 'died' in the first place."

And before Tenchi could say anything, his mother--Masaki Kiyone--span on one
heel and walked out of his life again.
