They were known far and wide as the Sorcerer Hunters. A group of people 
who roamed the land, toppling rogue sorcerers.

Mr. (he insisted on the prefix of Mr.) Mcgee was just such a rogue. Up 
until a few months ago, he'd been a lowly mage who had, against all 
odds, managed to stumble across an artifact that had substantially 
increased his powers.

Never one to stray from the beaten path, he'd promptly conquered a small 
town, built himself a tower, and sat back to enjoy the luxeries that 
being a ruthless conquerer had to offer a man.

Then the Hunters had come.

They'd toppled his gaurds, destoryed his wards and now stood before him 
in his inner sanctum.

Mcgee reacted predictably, somehow managing to topple four of the 
hunters in fairly short order. The remainder was a skinny young man the 
other hunters called Carrot, who was staring at Mcgee through narrowed 
eyes.

Mcgee threw a fireball, which Carrot dodged. "C'mon!" Carrot shouted. 
"Just give up, Mr. Mcgee!"

Mcgee responded by throwing more fireballs, then switched to plain old 
force blasts, putting holes in the walls and completely wrecking the 
carpets. But he couldn't hit Carrot, who's expression was rapidly 
becoming furious.

Several more minutes passed and then Carrot found an opening and lunged, 
landing on the throne dias.

"Mr. Mcgee, don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry."

Mcgee hit him with a force blast. That much magic at point blank range 
should have killed a man, but instead, Carrot's eyes began to glow...
