Love Hina Note: AU, uses mix of anime & manga,
spoilers later
on for those who haven't read through the manga
and haven't
seen the entire tv series, ovas, and specials.
Hmm, I suppose it depends upon what you've left out
of the
manga, or are you just adding in a few things from
the anime?
Mixing and matching as I go along actually. There are
things I liked from both, and some of the stories went
in interesting directions in the anime as opposed to
the manga. I still favor the manga heavily though, for
the simple fact that the characters actually mature in
it...well, most of them do.
"Let's make a promise to meet in Todai."
He wanted to go too!
He started running toward them as fast as he
could, trying to catch
up
to them before they vanished like they always did.
"Wait for me! Wait! Don't leave me behind!"
Interesting scene. Is this present-day Ranma chasing
his simpler
childhood self, or something else?
That would be telling.
With a yawn and a groan, he threw off the warmth
of the blanket
and sat up on the beaten up old futon.
It might beat sleeping on the ground but not by
much.
The Tendos didn't have the slightest clue of how
good they had it
here.
There had been times on the training trip when
Ranma would have
happily
kicked somebody else's ass to be able to sleep on
a real mattress.
You might want to change the "It might beat sleeping
on the ground
but not by much" to "It beat sleeping on the
ground." I was left
wondering why the Tendos had it so good, since there
wasn't that
much of a difference. Unless you want to contrast
what the Tendos
are sleeping on to what Ranma is sleeping on.
Ranma and Genma sleep on futons in the guest room. The
Tendos have their own beds. I speak from experience
when I say that having to sleep on a futon is NOT fun.
You'd get more rest sleeping on the couch.
We regret to inform you that your grandmother,
Mrs. Keiko Hina,
recently passed away. As per the instructions in
her will, you have
been designated as her primary heir. This includes
controlling
interest
in the property known as the Hinata Sou as well as
the surrounding
lands
within the Hinata district. Her bank accounts will
be held in trust
for you
by Ms. Haruka Urashima until you reach 20 years of
age or marry,
whichever
comes first. A portion of those funds have been
released and
enclosed with
this letter in order to pay for your traveling
expenses....'
Typical Grandma Hina sort of thing to do, actually.
'Your grandmother...passed away.'
'Passed away.'
Genma had never told him.
Still, "passing away" seems OOC for Grandma Hina.
Isn't she
supposed to be indestructible? However, I can see
her sending just
such a note to Ranma for no other reason than to get
a desired
reaction out of him. Of course, she would just
explain it as a
miscommunication while she was out climbing Everest
or something.
There's certainly precedent in the manga for her
doing that sort of
thing.
Again, that would be telling.
I'm looking forward to seeing how this plays out!
Thanks. ^^
