The thread offshoots from Brian Randall's post, including the one under a
different subject header, are now banned. Comments on the story are still
welcome. I'll be reviewing the posts in the thread along with the other admins
to see if anyone is getting tempbanned for flaming.

To quote the FAQ,

    * Personal arguments between yourself and another list
      member [should not be posted]. If
      you have a problem with someone else's behavior, take it up with
      him/her by private mail. If you feel someone is violating
      list policy, E-mail the admins about it. Posting to the list is
      not a good idea, as this sort of thing tends to result in long
      and bitter spam feuds.

I'll add that whether C&C on character consistency, or whatever other area, is
useful for a particular story is generally regarded as the prerogative of the
author, who in this case has not precluded any such feedback. In general, if you
have issues with the C&C that's been offered on a fic, the best thing to do is
to write and post your own. Defend the fic as strongly as you'd like, but if you
feel the need to attack the person who wrote it (and, to emphasize, whether or
not the attacks are justified is not the issue) please do it off-list.
