By whom?  She can barely claim to be the best martial artist at
Furinkan High.  

Barely claim?  I've never heard of a single instance of ANYONE beating 
Akane before Ranma showed up.  The fact that Kuno's "beat her to date 
her" fight is still in effect when Ranma shows up is proof of that.

She is not better than her father and she knows it.  

She isn't?  She does?  Well then, name one volume in the manga or anime
where her father wins a fight with her.  Hell, try to find an instance 
where her father wins ANY fight without help.

  "DADDY!  I CAN'T MARRY THIS-- THIS PERVERT!"

But here's the big one.  Akane refers to Ranma as a pervert because
she gets the idea in her head that he's a naked intruder in her house.
If she never sees him naked in the bath then she isn't going to call
him a pervert.  She'll call him, I don't know, a freak, a mutant, 
a hermaphrodite, or something.  Ranma's right, her response is crazy
because it doesn't match the changed circumstances.  It's like she's
got a script from the main timeline and is following it while everyone
else has the updates.  

This I agree with.  Continuity is a big pet peeve with me.

Of course the other issue is Cologne.  Having established that 
princess isn't willing to marry a man, she's got an opportunity
to set things up so that her great-granddaughter is the mother
of the second Amazon Queen.  Instead things are moving in the
direction of the second Amazon Queen being the daughter of Akane,
and I can't see Cologne welcoming that.

I can.  She isn't actually AGREEING that Akane and Ranma should wed,
she just thinks that Akane has a great deal of wasted potential and 
would make a great Amazon.  Agreeing to the engagement is obviously 
just a ploy that gives Cologne time to sink her hooks in Akane.  Once
she's got Akane eating out of her hand, Shampoo won't have competition.

Of course, she doesn't know about Ukyo yet...
