As usual Akane is a problem

   Akane watched them leave, and sighed.  "I'm still a bit
confused... I mean, I lost so fast.  I'm supposed to be the best
martial artist in Nerima."

By whom?  She can barely claim to be the best martial artist at
Furinkan High.  She is not better than her father and she knows it.

Oh, I don't know. If anything, I think Akane's portrayed as being just a wee
bit too modest here. It's her opinion being expressed, not that of an
objective observer. She's been wading through a platoon of perverts on her
way to class every morning and more than a few of them were jocks so what
are to expect her to think of herself at this point in the story?

  "DADDY!  I CAN'T MARRY THIS-- THIS PERVERT!"

But here's the big one.  Akane refers to Ranma as a pervert because
she gets the idea in her head that he's a naked intruder in her house.
If she never sees him naked in the bath then she isn't going to call
him a pervert.  She'll call him, I don't know, a freak, a mutant,
a hermaphrodite, or something.  Ranma's right, her response is crazy
because it doesn't match the changed circumstances.  It's like she's
got a script from the main timeline and is following it while everyone
else has the updates.

 
In Akane's view, boy = pervert. Boy who becomes girl when wet is a serious
pervert. So, in a sense, you are right. It _is_ crazy, but it _is_ Akane we
are talking about here. She has a big problem with the way juvenile males
behave and for more than a little reason.

Of course the other issue is Cologne.  Having established that
princess isn't willing to marry a man, she's got an opportunity
to set things up so that her great-granddaughter is the mother
of the second Amazon Queen.  Instead things are moving in the
direction of the second Amazon Queen being the daughter of Akane,
and I can't see Cologne welcoming that.

 
Now, here, I think you have a valid point, even though it did not cross my
mind when I did C&C for Robert. OTOH, there is plenty of room for Robert to
come up with an explanation for this apparent anomaly, so let's not get too
terribly excited just yet. It may turn out that Cologne already has a
breeding plan in place and doesn't want it disturbed just yet. So while I
agree that it is a point that will need to be addressed, it need not be done
in the very first chapter.
