It was a simple trick, really.  One worthy of Nabiki.
Worthy of what Nabiki had become, anyway.  Perhaps
that was even better, because Akane could lord it
over her sister for all eternity that she had thought
of it first, and the Nabiki that now existed could
appreciate it much better than the Nabiki of the
past.

She no longer remembered where she had first heard
the term "meme".  A virus of the mind.  It spread in
a manner similar to computer viruses and biological
viruses, but instead of processors or living cells,
it infected and spread using human minds.  Minds like
those of the fans whose thoughts and dreams now gave
live to her universe, with the attentions of the
original creator long since removed to other realms.

She also forgot how she became aware of her presence
in these dreams, but once she was aware, she soon
thought of a test.  For a long time, she had desired
to give Ranma the pounding he deserved for being a
hentai baka, but the truth - in those rare moments
she allowed herself to face it - was that he simply
outclassed her in many aspects, especially martial
arts.  Even under the original creator, she had
rarely been able to hit him - but rarely was not
never.

Focusing on one of them, she repeated her role over
and over again, encouraging the dreamers to
accentuate that part.  And they did.  And the stories
some of them wrote did, which in turn spread that
aspect of the dream.  Until eventually...

She summoned forth Mallet-sama from its
transdimensional pocket universe, fondled its shaft,
kissed its head, and began cuddling the giant wooden
hammer.  Almost purely a product of her
manipulations, but pounding someone with it still
gave her almost as much satisfaction as Ranma did in
the better of the "lemon" dreams, as the authors
called them, where...

Akane was blushing at the memory until Kodachi,
apparently under the influence of one of the
"alternate" dreamers, snuck up behind her and
glomped.  But the smile did not leave Akane's face
after her weapon saw action again.
