Subject: [FFML] [Ranmadate] The obligatory post-chapter voting rant

Just a few comments, since a new chapter breeds a lot of new--and
old--ignorance and general thoughtlessness in responses.

1. As I have reminded you all repeatedly, I will ignore voting forms which
are incomplete. A lot of you have the unfortunate habit of going off on
long-winded explanations of why you voted a certain way--and yet failing to
actually include the vote.

I'm going to say something very bluntly: I don't care to read your
long-winded explanations of your votes. I just want your numbers. The
numbers are the only thing I care about. The rest of your profound thoughts
on the matter at hand are going straight into the circular file. If you must
be long in the tooth, fine. But just remember to actually fill in numbers
before you go off on a rant, lest your time and mine be wasted.

(This isn't to say I don't appreciate intelligent commentary. I do, really.
It's just that a lot of the commentary I get is so far from intelligent it's
not even in the same solar system.)

2. The opinion poll question on each form (#4) is a yes or no question. It
is not a 1-10 scale question. It is not an essay question. It requires a
simple one-word answer: yes, or no. "I wouldn't mind, no." is not a proper
answer to this question. "Sure, why not." is not a proper answer to this
question. "Eh, I guess." is not a proper answer to this question. It's "yes"
or "no", people.

3. Fractionals are not acceptable. I should have addressed this before, as I
have two or three people who persist in giving me voting numbers with
fractions. I'm rounding these up or down as I see fit--so spare us both the
trouble and vote using integers only.

4. ONE NUMBER ONLY PER RESPONSE, PLEASE! I don't want to be left guessing
when someone says "9 if it's this way, 5 if it's this way". The ifs, ands,
and buts are irrelevant--and I generally just go with the first given number
in this case anyway. Do me a favour and don't pull this shit on me. I want
one number and ONLY one number per answer per question.

Remember: Fill in the seven items on the form--six numeric on a scale of
1-10 (integers!!), one yes/no question, and submit. You'll be doing
yourself, and me, a huge favour.

(Oh, and for the love of God, DO NOT resubmit your past vote(s) if you have
spotted yourself as being guilty of one of the previous offences. I'm not
keeping track of who I have and haven't counted votes from, so chances are I
either improvised and counted your vote already, contacted you asking you to
resubmit it, or ignored it and have no idea who you are. Just take this all
to heart for next time and get it right in the future. Thank you.)
