This is quite false.  Ryouga sends a letter before their first real
fight, and Ranma has to wait every day for him until he shows up,
IIRC.

As for the ending itself--I agree that the falling over bit should be
cut.  The story was too simple and obvious a gag for me to really get
anything out of it, but that last part damaged what you did have
there.
