A powerful and disturbing chapter, very much in keeping with the rest of the
series. One can almost see the
crushing of Ranma's last hope as Nodoka rejects him unknowingly.
Hiroshi is as weak as ever
Akane is actually becoming a more sympathetic character, which is nice to
see after her extreme self-centredness earlier on in this story. Can she
make a difference now though? Or has it gone too far?

One particular bit that did not ring right with me is the very last line. I
can't see Ranma being that coherent there. I'd expect her to babble on
incoherently, trying to get away and it be Akane or Nabiki who tells Ryoga.

As always I don't much like the use of male pronouns for female Ranma, since
it causes me to see Ranma in male form. Which tends to alter the story a
fair but. I can see why you do it and I know the rationale, but we know
what the other characters view of Ranma is, and what his view of himself is.
It does not need the reinforcement of the pronoun. His physical state is
much more variable. If there is a change in character viewpoints, that's a
major change and will be covered in the narrative (or should be). So I'd
prefer the pronouns be used to indicate physical state and the narrative
used to convey mental states. My opinion of course and this is very much a
'religious' thing it seems, so I don't suppose I'll convince anyone.

Ranma seems to be making a habit of injuring people as he tries to get away.
Wonder who next :) I could see Kasumi, who seems to be of the opinion that
guests should be allowed to maim residents...

Nabiki is another who has definitely come around. Her vow to track down the
rapist and her wish to help is a far change from the Nabiki in Chapter 2 who
went out of her way to hurt Ranma.

I think you said this story was near an end. Can't help feeling that the end
will be very dark in that case, any recovery for Ranma would take a long
long time and I'm not sure the end result would bear much resemblence to the
Ranma at the start.

Looking forwards to seeing more, whever that is :)
