Apparently HoI is undergoing a rewrite now... which means there is
some
actual progress... but still... Krista, if you're reading this, stop
wasting
time on the FFML and WRITE MORE! :P

As I understand it, Krista is going through some rather severe personal 
difficulties right now which are going to keep her out of action for a while.

As for the rest of this, I'd just make a few points:

1) People's tastes differ. Some of the authors you consider great are ones who I 
wouldn't touch with a ten-foot polemic, and no doubt vice-versa. Arguing over 
who the best authors are is a pointless activity.

2) As we all know, "real life" often has to take precedence over things like 
ficcing. Most of us enjoy have a roof over our heads, and fanfiction, no matter 
how popular an author one is, doesn't pay very well.

3) Sometimes one just isn't in the right mood or doesn't have the creative 
energy to finish a particular project. Yes, it's not good, but badgering people 
when they're in this state generally doesn't help and is likely to make it 
worse.

4) If you want to read more good fanfiction, the best thing you can do is to 
look for authors who *are* interested and *do* have time to write, ones who you 
feel have potential to be writing things you enjoy. Find such authors and give 
them lots of support, encouragement, helpful criticism, and anything else you 
can come up with.

All the good authors disappear... Metroanime has stopped working on his
fics
and all but disappeared, though someone told me he's working on the
Anime
Addventure (No, that isn't a typo.)... Skysaber caused all sorts of
chaos
and apparently went off to sulk, or something, and isn't working on
his
stuff anymore - work on it, hell, most of it's been taken off the net...
and
Skysaber is the main reason why I've taken to saving entire web sites to
my
hard drive, I hate it when good fics disappear... Carrot is writing
stuff,
but is a far cry from the good old days where he pumped out one chapter
per
day, which absolutely ROCKED... OneShot has apparently decided to take
a
month or two off or something, I wanna start an organisation which
would
somehow get him blacklisted at all the game shops near where he lives
so
that he can't buy any new games and has to go back to writing fanfiction
:P
