and gunzip; they're free as in free beer and as in free country.

The fanfic archive http://www.fanfic.net carries a mirror of the
complete RAAC archive (more than just the Ranma section, unlike
the recently-deceased http://fanfic.tass-anime.com). 

The files there are gzipped, but they have the server set up to
do the gunzipping for you en-passant, so you can read the
stories online in your browser.

And if you have to ask me what Usenet is, I will cry many tears, for it
