The sad thing is ... I do not know what RAAC is, but I assume 
it is a /Ranma 
1/2/ archive?  (Forgive me, but I am not a major fan of that 
series, and my 
knowledge of it and its fandom is touch-and-go outside of the 
few manga I 
own.)  That proves your point.

RAAC is rec.arts.anime.creative, a newsgroup hosted on Usenet which is
"moderated", or has controlled posts. Think of it as a fic-only version of
the FFML.

Except it has less of a Ranma bias, I think.

"Ranma 1/2" is the largest subfolder in my local copy of their archive, but
there are many other series.

ftp://ftp.cs.ubc.ca/pub/archive/anime-fan-works is the ftp, which I believe
still takes anonymous logins. It is a complete archive of every story ever
posted there, stored in gzip format, which is openable by Winzip. I don't
know about other archiving programs.

And if you have to ask me what Usenet is, I will cry many tears, for it
means I have become old in the eyes of the Internet.
