--Okay, I read your comments, and wanted to reply to a few things. Anything
I didn't reply to, I either agreed with, or just didn't have anything to say
to.

I went back and looked at the page in question. Like many other things
in Ranma canon, Takahashi has left this ambiguous. A person who was
opposed to a Ranma/Akane pairing might easily construe Soun as giving
Ranma (or Akane) an honorable out, since by some interpretations,
Ranma's multiple engagements CAN'T be resolved without damaging
someone's honor. I just wanted to point this ambiguity out to you,
since your fic doesn't show any signs of recognizing the need to
convince some people that this scenario is plausible. Ranma fandom is,
in my experience, the one with the most hotly contested differences
about matchups. (NGE is a distant second, although we might have
Knights of the True Children if Shinji ever had the backbone to choose
a girl.)

-- I'm aware. I'm sure that Akane took it seriously enough, though Ranma
will need a bit of prodding. After all, she did go through with the first
wedding, even if it was mostly because she wanted Ranma to get that
Nannichiuan (sp?) water. As much as others could somehow find a way to make
it convincing that they really don't love each other, it's also easy to
convincingly show that they DO love each other.

No disclaimer? Not even a "please don't sue me"?

-- *grin* I'm not so paranoid. I know it's generally a good idea to be
careful, but...the chance of me being sued, over this, is so slim that I
don't even care. If anyone has ever heard of even one case of someone being
sued over a fanfic that they posted on the internet, or a mailing list, let
me know and I'll change my habits. Until then...

You seem to capitalize "said" a lot, when it's not needed.

-- Third to point that out. Beleive it or not, before joining this list, no
one's ever pointed that out to me. I've been writing fanfiction for years,
and have been through many English courses, as well as University level
creative writing. No one said a word to me, and I've always done that. So
despite that you're the third, thank you for telling me anyway, because I'm
very happy to fix that. You'll see less of that mistake, now.

Who else were we to think he was?

-- Hehe. Someone else suggested to me that I didn't write his name soon
enough. Can't please everyone, I guess.

Like hell. She acted like she owned him all the time. Remember the
"Nabiki is Ranma's fiancee" arc? It's called jealousy. Akane isn't THAT
blind to her motivations.

-- Akane? Not blind? When her signature reaction to a female glomping Ranma
is to strike him out of the way, then later say she doesn't care what that
jerk does? I love the character, but she can be blind as a bat sometimes.
She does not know how obvious she is, and she is not always completely aware
of what's going on around her. I think the whole not knowing P-chan is Ryoga
bit is a fair example ^-^ Besides, even if she does act like she owns him,
it doesn't mean she conciously wants to act that way. We all do things that
we would sometimes rather not.

Says the girl who's worried Ranma doesn't think she's feminine enough.

-- True enough, but Akane's complicated. She wants to be feminine, but she
doesn't want to be underestimated and treated like porcelain. She wants to
be taken seriously as a martial artist, yet she doesn't train nearly as hard
as Ranma does (as seen in that plot arc where Soun's other "daughters" come
to town and try to claim the dojo as the true heirs.) That's part of the
reason I like Akane, though. She's a walking contradiction. Plus, Ranma is
right about one thing. Despite how fashionably she dresses, and her attempts
to cook, and sew, and do all sorts of feminine things, she is a true tomboy
at heart. In my opinion, at least.

Thank you for reading and taking the time to comment. ^-^
