Actually I have heard Star Trek and Who are run in Japan. My
understanding is STTNG was quite big in Japan for a time.
Who is not a popular, again on third hand information, it is
run on English Language stations. So Ranma might have seen
either or both.

a) Memorizing Klingon or nitpicking Dr. Who does not strike me as
particularly "playful"

[Yeah- that�s a fix too.

b) How does Ranma even know what those shows ARE? I wouldn't exactly
expect them to be terribly popular in Japan.
