Ever watched Independence Day? With my solution these guys would've
laughed at the funny tries from the humans prior to have them all killed.

Actually Independence day wasn't _too_ bad, since they used the aliens own
computer systems against them, and the system presumably was connected
deep into the mother ships system to begin with.  I'd assume the aliens
would have overpowered the virus in a matter of minutes nevertheless.
However, what bugs me is that the genius programmer wrote that virus so
quickly for a machine he had only just glimpsed - no matter how good you
are you don't learn all the tricks of the trade from descrambling a
message a week earlier and a non-fully functioning computer system which
you had access to for less than a day (now if he was Lain, then OK..., but
if we assume he was basically human, then no way).  Hey - if you received
information about Arabic numerals on Monday, and all the books in the
Library on Friday, would you be able to write a math thesis masterpiece
(good viruses _are_ masterpieces) by Sunday morning [we assume you've know
nothing about Earth/Human math/English] using human notation and the
English language?
