Suggest: for gods' sake!
(or)
for kamis' sake!
(In Shinto, as I understand it, kami are a general class of spirit deity,
not a
single being.)

Correct... and they are not capitalized.... exactly like you put it.

If you are refering to Kami-sama however (God with a capital G) then you do
capitalize it.

So at this point you would use "for Kami-sama's sake."

not to be confused with Kami-sama's Sake... which Urd frequently gets into.

I had the best of intentions, I never intended to be gone for ten
years,
but I'm a perfectionist with regards to my son, he was never good enough,
never "Manly" enough. So for ten years we trained. Ten years straight you
ask? No. I had my son go to school, using what money I could earn doing
what
odd jobs I could to get him into a good private school, no public school
was
good enough for my boy.

Seems to me that you're applying American attitudes to Genma here. The
idea that
private, for-pay services are somehow intrinsically better than public
ones has
been propagated widely over here, but would a Japanese person really think
this
way?

Actually I think this isn't just an Americanism here. Private schools/tutors
are generally held to be superior or more desirable all over the world. I
put some of the responsibility for this on the English, since their colonial
views are likely where a lot of this originated from, since they held that
private tutors, schools, ect. were for the finer classes, and more likely to
provide a better education.

Take Kodachi Kuno's school for example... I don't believe that an all-girl's
school would be public, and they seem to hold themselves as a bit above the
others in attitude.

This of course raises the question of why Tatewaki Kuno is in public
school.

Personally, I'd put tht down to his frequent fights. He's likely gotten told
to leave a private school (and been black listed) because he got into it
with someone else whose family also had money. But that's just an assumption
on my part.
