I don't know if it'll be a masterpiece. I don't even know if it'll ultimately 
be any good. All I can do is try my best to hammer out the story and try not 
to disgrace myself in the process. 

I've all ready run into a challenge or two just getting that 1000 word-plus 
prologue out. Chronology, at least on the Kane side of things, is screwed. I 
was initially going to use the Kane chronology developed Richard Twogood 
(found in Fantastic Worlds of Robert E. Howard) as a guide, but, when I 
compared the dates listed in that to a corresponding Japanese timeline, I 
found that by the time Kane completed the majority of his written adventures, 
the Sengoku era was over, Japan was firmly under the thumb of either 
Hideyoshi or Tokugawa, and (presumably) the events of Inu-Yasha were over. At 
first I considered using a younger version of Kane, having only had the 
adventures detailed in Red Shadows and perhaps the Black Forest sequence, but 
it didn't appeal to me. I don't know if I could get a pre-Hills of the Dead 
Kane to feasibly act the way I want when it comes to interacting with 
Inu-Yasha and the crew. I finally dismissed the idea of following the Kane 
chronology as a hobgoblin of my little mind and plowed ahead, continuity be 
damned. 

Well, we'll see how it goes. I don't know when the next chapter will be out - 
prolific I am not.
